Privacy policy

Last updated: 2 August 2026.

The short version#

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name or email unless you send us one. Standard web server logs, privacy-respecting analytics and — where they are used — advertising and affiliate partners are the sources of data on this site.

What we collect#

Server logs. Like every website, our host records requests: IP address, timestamp, the page requested, referrer and browser user agent. These are used for security and to diagnose problems, and are retained for a limited period.

Analytics. We use analytics to understand which guides are useful and which are not — page views, referrers, approximate country and device type, aggregated. We do not use analytics to build profiles of individuals.

Email. If you email us, we hold that email and our reply. We do not add you to any mailing list.

Cookies#

We use cookies where they are needed for the site to function and, where applicable, for analytics and advertising. Where the law requires consent, you will be asked before non-essential cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not prevent you from reading anything here.

Advertising and affiliates#

This site is supported by advertising and by affiliate links. Where third-party ad networks are used, those networks may set their own cookies and process data under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. Affiliate links may pass a referral identifier to the retailer when you click; they do not tell us who you are.

Affiliate links are labelled where they appear, and they do not influence what we cover or what we conclude — see our editorial policy.

Who we share data with#

We do not sell personal data. Data is processed by the service providers that make the site work — hosting, analytics, ad delivery — and only for those purposes.

Your rights#

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. To exercise any of these, email us at hello@newgamesguide.com.

Children#

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Guides link to developer sites, storefronts and community resources. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their practices.

Changes#

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and the change is described here.
