Go-Go Town!
Go-Go Town! guides
Go-Go Town! is a bright town-building sim where you clean up a run-down town, open businesses and pull in visitors. It is deliberately low-stress — which makes the two problems that dominate its search traffic especially frustrating, because both of them take away progress rather than challenge you.
Start here#
- Save will not load, or progress rolled back — corrupted save fix
- Cannot see a friend's town in the join list — friends' game not showing
- What changed in the latest Switch patch — patch 1.0.26043
Why Switch saves are a different problem#
Save corruption on Switch has a specific shape that PC players do not deal with, and knowing it changes what you should do.
Switch cloud saves sync on suspend and on close, not continuously. If the console loses power, or a game crashes hard, the local save can be mid-write while the cloud copy is from an earlier session. Then the console reconciles the two — and it does not always pick the one you wanted.
Two habits follow from that:
- Exit to the Switch home menu before putting the console to sleep after a long session. That triggers the sync while the save is in a known-good state.
- When a save goes wrong, do not keep playing. Every further session risks overwriting the cloud copy that still works. Stop, then follow the recovery steps before anything else.
Multiplayer on Switch, briefly#
Most "my friend's town does not show up" reports come down to one of four things, in rough order of frequency: mismatched game versions between the two consoles, one player not having an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription, a friend relationship that exists on one console but has not synced to the other, or the host having the session set to local rather than online.
None of them produce a clear error message, which is why the problem feels mysterious. The join list guide walks all four in order.
FAQ#
Does the Switch version get patches at the same time as PC?#
Rarely. Console patches go through platform certification, so they land days to weeks behind the PC build. A fix listed in PC patch notes is not necessarily live on your Switch yet.
Can I move my save between Switch and PC?#
No. The versions use different save systems and there is no cross-platform transfer.
Will deleting and reinstalling the game delete my save?#
On Switch, deleting the software leaves save data in place by default — save data is managed separately under System Settings → Data Management. That makes reinstalling a reasonably safe troubleshooting step, but confirm the save is listed there before you delete anything.
