The Last of Us Part II Remastered

How matchmaking works in the Last of Us Part II multiplayer mod

Speclizer's Last of Us Part II PC mod has a functioning matchmaking system in its development build. Public coverage and demonstrations show a multiplayer menu, map selection, gear loadouts, leaderboards and matches supporting up to 4v4.

What is not confirmed yet#

The creator has not published final details for regions, skill-based matching, parties, private lobbies, dedicated servers, anti-cheat or host migration. Because the public release is still targeted for September 2026, a working internal matcher does not mean servers are open now.

Safe launch-day checklist#

  1. Download only from a link published by Speclizer's established account.
  2. Read the included version and ownership requirements.
  3. Back up local saves and remove conflicting gameplay mods.
  4. Test a private or low-stakes match before changing network or firewall settings.
  5. If queues fail, check creator status posts before reinstalling the game.

Do not disable system security or forward broad port ranges based on an unofficial mirror's instructions. No verified public troubleshooting guide exists before release.

For the wider project scope, read the Speclizer mod guide. The September 2026 status page tracks timing, and the multiplayer mod guide hub collects future updates.
