Deadlock
Deadlock ranked requirements and new rank system
Deadlock's rewritten ranked mode uses an eligibility requirement before competitive play, with current reporting identifying 15 wins as the unlock threshold. Check the ranked panel in your client because Valve can revise requirements during testing.
Why ranked may still be locked#
- Wins, not matches played, are the relevant progress measure.
- Recently completed games may take time to appear after coordinator issues.
- Account restrictions or a game update can temporarily disable the queue.
- Old rank badges do not guarantee immediate placement in a rewritten ladder.
New ranks and placement#
The updated ladder expands the rank structure and recalibrates players. Early matches can therefore mix returning players, new qualifiers and accounts whose skill estimate has not stabilized. A rough first week is not proof that your displayed rank is permanently wrong.
Play a meaningful sample, avoid switching regions merely to shorten one queue, and record match IDs when reporting an extreme mismatch. Thin queues produce wider skill ranges; peak regional hours usually give the matchmaker more suitable candidates.
