How to find and use Gem Sprites in Fortnite

Gem Sprites are part of a newly active Fortnite event cluster, so availability and spawn behavior can change through a server hotfix. Begin with the current event quest and in-game map indicators rather than an old static map.

Finding a Gem Sprite#

Land away from the busiest named location, open the relevant quest, and search the event-marked area before rotating. If no Sprite appears, confirm that you are in a supported playlist and that the event is active in your region. Team Rumble and competitive playlists do not always share the same item pool.

Ability and variants#

Read the item card before committing to a fight. Variant color or name can signal a different effect, charge count or cooldown. Test the ability in open ground and record whether it affects only the carrier or nearby teammates.

Fall-damage claims#

Do not jump from lethal height based only on a clip. Test from a small ledge first and watch for an active buff icon. Fortnite frequently distinguishes launch immunity, low-gravity effects and a true fall-damage cancel.

Source check#

Verified August 7, 2026 against Epic's dated Gem Sprite community announcement. Live quests and item descriptions take precedence after a hotfix.
